Entering the Jiangxia production base of China Railway Science and Technology Corporation, a train of two carriages, which looks like a subway, comes into view, and the four characters "New Times" on the car body are particularly eye-catching. More than 10 workers are working, and the main body of the car has been basically completed. The design of the carriage is similar to that of the subway carriage, but smaller and more exquisite. A single car is 11 meters long (22 meters in the subway) and 2.4 meters wide (2.8 meters in the subway), which can accommodate 80 to 90 people at the same time, accounting for about one-third of the capacity of a single car in the subway. About 500 meters away from the empty rail, a test line about 1 km long is under construction.

It is reported that China is the third country to master the technology of empty orbit after German and Japanese. In 2018, China Railway Science and Technology began to build a test line about 1 km long at Jiangxia Base, and plans to try it out in 2019.

Wang Yinglin said that the construction cost of the empty track is low, and the carrying capacity of more than 10,000 passengers per hour can basically meet the transportation needs of cities with a permanent population of 1 million to 3 million, with high cost performance.

According to industry insiders, at present, Leshan in Sichuan, Hanzhong in Shaanxi and Hancheng have put forward the idea of building empty tracks. At the beginning of 2018, a suspended empty rail experimental line was built in Qingdao.
